Shimano STEPS Battery

W020

Battery temperature outside operating range

The battery temperature has left the guaranteed operating range, so the battery shuts off its output and the system will not start. This happens in freezing cold as well as in strong heat. Once the battery has returned to a moderate internal temperature, the system works normally again.

How to read e-bike error codes

Unlike cars (OBD-II), e-bike codes are manufacturer-specific: the same number means something different on a Bosch than on a Shimano system. What matters is always the combination of drive system and code.
