Shimano STEPS System / software

Firmware not supported by this system

The firmware currently installed on one of the components is not supported by the overall system, so assist is disabled. This typically happens when components with mismatched firmware versions are combined, for example after a parts swap or a partial update. Updating all components to the latest compatible firmware via E-TUBE PROJECT resolves the conflict.

How to read e-bike error codes

Unlike cars (OBD-II), e-bike codes are manufacturer-specific: the same number means something different on a Bosch than on a Shimano system. What matters is always the combination of drive system and code.
