E014

Abnormal speed signal from speed sensor

The speed sensor is delivering an implausible speed signal, and the system disables assist as a tamper and safety protection. Typical triggers are a wrongly placed magnet or sensor — and also speed tuning attempts. Mounting sensor and magnet correctly and taking a short test ride normally clears the error.

How to read e-bike error codes

Unlike cars (OBD-II), e-bike codes are manufacturer-specific: the same number means something different on a Bosch than on a Shimano system. What matters is always the combination of drive system and code.
