Shimano STEPS System / software

E011

System error detected

A general system error was detected and assist is switched off while riding. Like E010, the first step is a simple power cycle, which resolves transient faults. If the error keeps appearing, the system needs professional diagnosis at a dealer.

How to read e-bike error codes

Unlike cars (OBD-II), e-bike codes are manufacturer-specific: the same number means something different on a Bosch than on a Shimano system. What matters is always the combination of drive system and code.
