Button on the on-board computer stuck or disabled

The system has detected that one or more buttons on the on-board computer or control unit are permanently pressed or not responding. This is usually caused by dirt or moisture that has worked its way in around the button. The drive itself is normally not damaged.

Roadside self-help

  1. Check whether a button is visibly stuck and press it several times to free it
  2. Carefully clean and dry the buttons
  3. Switch the system off and on again

Possible causes

  • Dirt around the button high
  • Moisture in the button mechanism medium
  • Mechanical damage to the button low

How to read e-bike error codes

Unlike cars (OBD-II), e-bike codes are manufacturer-specific: the same number means something different on a Bosch than on a Shimano system. What matters is always the combination of drive system and code.
